You Can Make a Difference

Everyone wants to do something that makes a difference in the lives of others. Our volunteers have the opportunity to learn, make new friends, develop new skills and, most of all, enjoy the satisfaction that comes from helping others.

You will be making a difference in our community by comforting patients and their families, easing their mind by keeping them informed, assisting visitors in wayfinding and many other acts of kindness while helping us to deliver our mission of delivering exceptional and compassionate patient care.

Who are our volunteers?

Our volunteer family is a unique blend of community members. They include retirees, college students, individuals looking for a career change and people who have time to give.

What do they do?

Some of the important things they do are: greet our patients with a smile and escort them to their destination, get a blanket or socks for a patient who feels cold and comfort family members and keep them informed.

When do they volunteer?

Volunteering fits into everyone’s schedule. We offer a variety of day and evening shifts, seven days a week. We ask you to make a minimum one-year commitment to a regular weekly schedule and assignment, usually four hours per week.

Where do they volunteer?

Volunteers work in almost every area of the hospital such as assisting in the emergency department, surgery waiting, spiritual care, patient care units, greeters and information desks. Some volunteers may work on special projects and community events.

What are the requirements?
